CMC 1:18 1955 Mercedez-Benz 300 SLR

#722 Signed by Stirling Moss

Product Description

CMC 1:18 scale Mercedes 300SLR #722 signed by Stirling Moss.

In 1955, Mercedes-Benz introduced its 300 SLR for the first time at the Mille Miglia. Among its toughest competitors were Ferrari, Maserati, and Aston Martin. Every minute, a competing car received its starting signal. Since 1949, the starting order had been decided by lot, so that each starting number was a record of the starting time. The young, but well-accomplished British race driver Stirling Moss, together with his co-pilot Denis Jenkinson (“Jenks”), received the starting number 722. That indicated that their exact starting time was 7:22 AM. They won in record time, a record that still stands to this day.
Described by Sir Stirling Moss recently as “The greatest sports car ever made”and signed on the bonnet by the great man himself.

Fabulously detailed model by CMC with opening bonnet and boot, removable side panel and Stirling’s map roll. The model is new and comes with it’s original packaging box and certificate of authenticity for the signing by Stirling Moss. CMC model number M-066.
